Our Time Is Over (Vanitas)

101 smartphones made of mirrors create the image of a skull. The skull is an element enormously present in Vanitas, a pictorial genre of the baroque which reminds the spectator of the emptiness of worldly pleasures.
According to Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google between 2001 and 2011, we created as much information every two days as was created from the beginning of civilization the year 2003. Much of that information are images, and most of the time these images are self-portraits and/or completely banal in nature. How does this pollution of images affect our way of being in the world? How does this awareness of the self image contribute to the construction of an identity?
