Our Time Is Over (Vanitas)

101 smartphones made of mirror create the image of a skull. The skull is an element enormously present in Vanitas, a pictorial genre of the baroque which tried to remind the spectator of the emptiness of worldly pleasures.
According to Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google between 2001 and 2011, we created as much information every two days as the one that was created from the beginning of civilization to the year 2003. Much of that information are images, and most of the time these images are self-portraits and/or absolutely banal in nature. How does this pollution of images affect our way of being in the world? How does this awareness of the self image contribute to the construction of an identity?
